Coworker Fishtank, is it humane?

My coworker brought this tank in sometime recently, and it caught my eye. However, I'm worried it might be too small, or that the fish might need a heater? I'm not even sure what sort of fish they could be, my very basic research tells me they could be Corys?

They aren't working today, so I can't ask about it. Am I just being nosy and overanxious? I'd like to help them get a better environment for their fish, if it's needed.
