Freaking Out After Learning About Girl’s Ex Having Herpes

I need some advice or perspective because I’m really anxious right now.

About two weeks ago, I started talking to this girl, and we kissed. A few days later, she mentioned that her ex had herpes, and now I can’t stop worrying that I might have caught something.

Four days after we kissed, I noticed a pimple next to my lip, and I popped it (probably a bad idea). Now, it’s been another four days, and it looks worse—like it’s not healing properly. I’ve attached two pictures: the first is what it looked like initially, and the second is what it looks like now.

I’ve never been in a situation like this before, so I don’t know what to do. Does this look like a cold sore, or could it just be an irritated pimple? Should I see a doctor, or am I overthinking this?

Any advice would mean a lot. Thanks.
