Sony Linkbuds alternative

I have tried a few pairs of earbuds for work and I've not been keen on them. - I work in a workshop and need to be able to hear the outside world as much as possible - what I'm after is the earbud equivalent of a stereo at a sensible volume on the other side of a room. The best I've tried were the Linkbuds - sound quality was "ok" enough for music, but the open design means I could have a conversion with them still in, and be aware of my surroundings. For all intents and purposes they were perfect. However it would appear my right ear is just a little too small, and I get quite a lot of ear pain after a couple of hours. So the question is - what is out there that's either a similar design or has legitimately good ambient listening.

I've tried XM4's and Galaxy Buds Pro 2. ANC on the XM4 was mind blowing but the amhient mode sucked. Ambient mode better on the galaxy buds but not good enough for my requirements.

Can anyone reccomend anything to try? My focus is primarily on ambient mode - I don't care about ANC or noise isolation, and actual audio quality although I'd like to be as good as possible - I can live with something lower end. TIA
