Might be a unicorn

Ok. I’m on a journey to buy a split mechanical keyboard and I’m having a hell of a time between sensory issues and needing the function row. My daily driver is the Logitech Ergo and it has butterfly switches with low profile laptop keys.

I just tried and returned a kinesis pro freestyle, which had a choice for mx silent red linear switches. The keys sounded phenomenal. I have small hands and made so many errors because the keys felt ginormous. I could have probably gotten used to it after some time, but what made me put it back in the box was that the switches weren’t pre-lubed and they were soooooooo scratchy. HUGE sensory nope. This is the first time I’ve tried a mechanical keyboard and didn’t realize how much that would affect me. And I wasn’t about to ruin a warranty to try to lube the keys if they weren’t meant to come off.

All the keyboards I’ve looked at seemed so minimalistic. I can deal with a separate number pad but most places don’t seem to have those in low profile that match the keyboard, so I settled for a cheap one from Amazon.

The must is the function row. And this seems to be the hitch.

Do you all have any suggestions? Im willing to sell a foot pic or two for the money if needed. 😂
