Shamed for buying a pup

Does anyone else get unwanted comments about buying a pup rather than rescuing one fron a shelter? I live in SF and am constantly being shamed by dog parents that adopted rather than buying their fur baby. It makes me feel a lil guilty until I see what a healthy, emotionally stable, and social boy I have.
