The Trial of Heartache is incredibly frustrating and hard
I don't know if anyone here has gotten the same experience as I'm currently having, but I'm failing this trial over and over.
Of course one of the issues is that you have to play with the Twin Flames, which is already a challenge in itself, but also you need to clear the Rift of Thessaly all the way up to Eris herself to complete this challenge, with no Death Defiances, and also no healing between the rooms.
I have managed to reach Eris a few times but never managed to beat her because the damage output is really really low, while of course Eris herself absolutely demolishes you if you screw up.
On my last attempt, I came to her with 300 hp and after a 8 minute fight, at the very end she managed to get me by cornering me next to a fire with 2 shielded pickaxe enemies blocking my path on the other side, and she just destroyed me with her quick fire attack.
You only have Aphrodite boons, which for the attack requires you to be close to your enemies, and honestly I really don't feel the weakness effect on them, I constantly get damaged as bad as when I play with 12+ Fear.
The fact that this is the aspect of eos at least means you can try to maximize your dps by dashing and having your attacks hit back on the return, but i've found that against Eris a lot of time this becomes very unreliable.
Also, 1/2 runs, if you're unlucky, you will also have to defeat Charybdis on the way, which again, hurts pretty bad.
I'm a bit at a loss and I'm even considering dropping it for the moment in the hopes that they nerf it, because in the current state this is just incredibly frustrating.
Few points :
- In one run I actually managed to get to the fountain room, so it is possible but again the RNG requires you to be pretty lucky
- Every time you lose it sends you back to your room and is actually considered as a failed run so all the NPCs are talking about you failing, this is incredibly frustrating lol
- Basically you should always get the Centaur Heart when there is one because it's pretty much your only chance of healing and they are buffed by Aphrodite's boon
- I haven't seen Icarus coming up even once
- You have Frinos with you, and even if he can help you against Eris, he will sometimes jump out and leave you open, which can be a real disaster if it happens
- The game rates this Trial's difficulty as a 3 Eyes out of 5 and my god they really underestimated how tough it would be
