Going from obgyn to family med
I recently transitioned into family medicine after leaving a toxic obgyn/womens health clinic. I’m already thinking what in the world have I gotten myself into. I can see why a lot of people dislike primary care. I have done 4 years of primary care in the past but with peds population. I shadowed one of my coworkers today and watching her do her providers in basket and prior auths and it had me ready to run out the door lol. My experience as an MA has been strictly clinical no admin duties at all since we had nurses in the office who took care of it all so I’m a little nervous. Any tips for getting through your providers in basket in between patients without feeling so overwhelmed? I’m hoping gaining these admin skills will help me to eventually land a work from home gig because I’m ready to get off the clinic floor all together. Ugh pray for me! lol
