I would like help choosing how to go about this, as I do not get it.

I am a 17F highschool student, and I’ve given meditation a shot at various points in my life, but never really been able to click with it. I read the big FAQ thing on this sub and plan to read mindfulness in plain English, but I was never able to understand. I am a very highly logical person, and my mind moves much faster than I can keep track of. So, in a guided meditation, when they say “focus your mind on this” or “move your mind to here” or “notice the thought and let it pass by”, I simply can’t compute it. I have genuinely no idea what it means, and no idea how to do it. Every time I try I just end up sitting straight with my eyes closed for 20-30 minutes getting distracted by long thought tangents faster than I can rid them. I don’t think I recall a time were I could even go more than 3-5 seconds without subconsciously moving onto and thinking through a new idea or topic. That being said, I am looking for a way to do this because I know very well that being able to master this skill will improve every part of my life and productivity, and I’ve got big aspirations.
