Belgium Short Stay Visa Refused, Help me Reapply

Hi everyone,
I recently applied for a Schengen visa to attend the Piscine program at Campus 19 in Belgium but was refused. I’m sharing my experience and the documents I submitted to get feedback and advice on how to improve my reapplication. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I’m a self-taught software developer (no job atm, not married, no properties) from Ghana and currently working on an AI-driven waste management project backed by Microsoft for Startups. I applied for the Piscine program to pass the exam, and qualify for opportunities to gain some credentials for my self taught career and also return to Ghana after the program to finalize my project’s MVP to present to local authorities and also to advance in the Startups program.

My visa application was refused by the Swiss Embassy in Accra, which processes visas on behalf of Belgium. The reasons for refusal were:
1. The information submitted regarding the justification for the purpose and conditions of the intended stay was not reliable.
2. There are reasonable doubts as to my intention to leave the territory of the Member States before the expiry of the visa.

Documents Submitted:
1. Cover Letter: Explained my purpose, background, and post-program plans.
2. Campus 19 Enrollment Confirmation: Proof of registration for the Piscine program.
3. Flight Reservations: Round-trip Accra–Brussels.
4. Accommodation Booking: Confirmation for Antwerp City Hostel (29 nights).
5. Travel Insurance: Coverage of €30,000.
6. Bank Statements: Sponsor’s Personal balance of 964,590.89 GHS (approx. €60,636.83).
7. Project Roadmap: Detailed plan for MVP development and Microsoft sponsorship.
8. MTN App Challenge Certificate: Proof of my early achievements in tech.
9. Project and Personal Online Presence: Links to blogs, articles about my project, my github, website, etc. 10. Supporting Statement on how the trip is linked my Project. 11. Notarized And Signed Letter and ID Copy from Sponsor. 12. Microsoft for Startups Dashboard Screenshot, Emails confirming Level Up.

  1. How can I better demonstrate the purpose of my visit and its alignment with my career goals?
  2. What additional evidence can I provide to prove my intention to return to Ghana?
