Games that strongly prioritize gameplay over story?

Seems like the most popular single-player games nowadays focus a lot on narrative, but personally, I couldn't care less about fictional stories. I just want some fun gameplay, possibly skill based, that isn't some hamster wheel multiplayer game. My favorite genres are action (third person and first person), platformers, simulation.
