ghost sim can’t eat ambrosia??

so i spent a really long time after my sim died by maxing her skills in order to cook ambrosia for herself. when i click on it, there isn’t even the option to ingest it. i tricked her into eating it by the “get leftovers” option on the fridge, and she’s still a ghost. can’t find any answers online, so i figured id ask here. does anyone know what’s going on?
