my main quest glitched

okay so i was doing the quest called "the key is in the chart" and i was having some trouble so i decided to search it up and apparently i have to go through this potal but its closed??? and i had opened it before, i remember it cleary and its part of the main quest so i had to open it before getting this quest. what should i do?
