Do the bugged mega evolutions still apply altered Pokémon types?

Trying to make a raid party for the upcoming kyogre raids. Due to a bug mega evolutions aren’t applying the boosted cp and only the ally boost while in battle (which goes for primals too unfortunately).

But we do know if additional types still apply to the mega, like for sceptile - does it still become dragon type for the extra water and electric resistance or does it still take the same damage?
