"we will need Gmax for Eternatus"

a lot of people are saying that the only reason to go for gmax mons is to prepare for eturnatus, and it really does feel like that, just future bosses and other gmax. but i want to point out that... we probably wont even need gmax to go against eturnatus unless niantic pulls some shit like "only gigantamax can handle going against eternatus, no dynamax allowed".

eternatus is a poison and dragon type, weak to ground, dragon, psycic, and ice.
gmax mons max move type is locked, and theres only one of each that has that type of gmax move, and most of them have abysmall attack stats.

laprass has a a base attack of 165
orbeetle has 156
sandaconda is ok at 202
duraludon is the only good one with 239

meanwhile metagross, the fouth dynamax mon we ever got has a base attack of 257 and stab super effective max mind storm.

so besides duraludon, unless the gmax moves are doing almost double the damage of normal max moves, i really doubt orbeetle is beating out metagross with that 156 attack stat.

also metagross resists both of eturnatus's types, with a double resist to poison.

besides some legendarys that we might get, i feel like we already have the top counter for eternatus now and it was released in the first weeks of dynamax. so theres even less reason to go for Gmax mons, especialy because its not like they tank any better or have better base stats or anything, its only the max attack and the look, and for everything except duraludon, their attack sucks.
