My Thames Water Bill is increasing by £19/m from £53 to £72/m
Hey guys... I'm looking for some general advice and would love to hear what you guys have to say. I don't often make posts on Reddit so bare with me and if I've done or said anything wrong, please let me know.
So we are a family of 4, who live in a 3 bedroom flat in London. We take daily showers, that last about 10 minutes and I would like to believe we don't really waste much water.
We currently pay £53 a month to Thames Water through direct debit. We don't have a meter and I just received a email that our water bill is going to increase £19 a month to a total of £72 a month. I may be wrong or ill-informed but that seems like a lot.
I have also received a letter from Thames Water saying that we could have a smart meter installed in our home and it is not possible to be installed outside.
Because I don't have knowledge about the cost of water on a metered bill, I was looking for advice on this situation.
Is there anything I can do about this price increase and should I switch to a smart meter?
Sorry for the long winded post, I appreciate anything anyone has to offer.
