Best way to get married

Hi! Me (EU citizen) and my fiancé (USC) are wondering what would be the best way to approach getting married.

He’s military and currently lives in Japan (I’ve been visiting him and travelling around Asia). There’s a good chance he will get sent to the US sometime soon until the end of his contract.

Should we get married abroad somewhere and then try to get me a visa so I can move with him back to the US? Or should I enter the US under a Fiance Visa?

I would like to live with him if he gets sent back to the US. However I have a fully remote job in EU so I don’t need to have the right to work ASAP, just eventually.

We’re not sure what would be the fastest way to go and easiest on the both of us - we’ve already been through hell bc of the military lol

Any advice? Stories from people with similar situations?
