Lost Money on My First Crypto adventure here – Is It All Just Gambling?

Like many others here, I participated in a meme coin project for the first time and lost a few hundred Euros. I’m writing it off as a learning experience. What I’ve learned so far is that the crypto community is full of self-proclaimed experts who like to act superior and make fun of questions by newbies and also full of bots and scammers. Many pretend they’ve cracked the code on how to make money with shitcoins (also the bots and scammers in order to get you to buy more). And some of you are genuinely nice and want to help...

I don’t know if some of you actually consistently making money with meme coins but I doubt it for the most part, I mean I guess some of you got lucky but there isn't really a system that will make you rich for sure imo. I’ve watched a lot of podcasts on the topic, including ones featuring bigger finance and crypto experts, and they generally say that it’s basically gambling.

For example, I saw one with The Diary of a CEO and Raoul Pal, where both said they know lots of people who lost money with meme coins. They both know people that had a lucky streak and made a lots of money, only to lose everything in the end, with some even ending up in debt. That sounds a lot like classic gambling addiction psychology to me.

I’ll hold onto my Wepe tokens for now and hope the price rises, but in the future, I’ll invest my money more wisely.
