PLEASE READ! SEVERE SCIATICA RECOVERED!
Hey everyone,
I wanted to share my journey in case it helps someone out there struggling like I was. My suffering began in January of 2024. I couldn’t sit, stand, walk, or run without pain. It was relentless—no position gave me relief. I saw three different physical therapists and tried all their exercises for four months, and nothing seemed to work. Gabapentin made me depressed and tired, naproxen barely made a dent, and eventually, I just said, “Fuck it all. None of this is working.”
That’s when I decided to try something different. I started doing yoga every day—downward dog, cobra, back and forth, easing into the movements and letting my spine unlock over time. I got a standing desk to take breaks from sitting and forced myself to sleep on my back, flat. This was the first thing that started to help after 10 months of pain.
But what really changed everything? Ibuprofen. I took 600mg twice a day—morning and night—for a while, and it was just enough to bring the inflammation down slowly. I wasn’t even thinking about it, but one day I realized I didn’t need it anymore. On top of that, I got a steroid shot, and while it didn’t seem to work right away, about three months later, it kicked in, and I felt a noticeable difference.
Now, I’m pain-free. No surgery. No crazy interventions. Just a combination of consistent yoga, managing inflammation with ibuprofen, a standing desk, and giving my body time to heal. If you’re struggling, don’t lose hope. Try different things, and don’t be afraid to experiment with what works for you. You’re not broken, and you can get better.
