Home delivery services need to improve in this country.
I‘m 28F, originally from India, moved here about 2 years ago. I get parcels delivered every now and then, mostly via DHL. And the service is quite bad in my experience.
It’s difficult to know when parcels will arrive, and often times nobody comes to deliver. Sometimes when they do and I‘m not home, they deliver the parcel at parcel shop instead of giving it to a neighbour.
An example: A packet had to be picked up from my home and DHL kept sending emails that they will come and nobody came. In the end, the brand had to reimburse all the money since it had been going on for 4 months (about 600 euros!!) It‘s so different and easy in India!
It’s crazy how this is normal. Imagine if there were a portal where I could specify my availability for delivery, tell them which neighbor to give to if I’m unavailable, request pick up at home so I don’t have to go to parcel shop on one single portal/website. I‘d be more than happy to pay 10 euros for it monthly. I‘m sure e-commerce companies would benefit from it substantially too since they will have a more effective and efficient delivery partner.
What do you all think? Have you had similar experiences? Would you be willing to pay for a solution like this as a customer or a brand?
