Post op question- walking my dog
Hi everyone. I've had CTS in both hands for about 4 years. I got my nerve conduction test done in 2022 and both hands were moderate. However, I opted to wait for surgery because I was working full time as a dog walker and had no PTO and I was worried about how long I would need off with using my hands all day and dogs pulling etc.
So I finally have a new job that is a desk job with PTO, yay! So I am scheduled for my first endoscopic surgery on September 9th, on my left hand (i am right handed, but my left is now worse). What can I expect for recovery in regards to walking my dog?
My dog is only 50 lbs but MAN CAN SHE PULL! Like I said, I am right handed, but sometimes you need two for her! My husband is going to shoulder her care for a while, but how long will I need before I feel I can walk her, and also how long after is it safe to have like pulling pressure on the hand?
I know my husband doesn't mind, but she is a lot of work and I feel bad. TIA
