Road conditions in snow?

Thinking of moving to Cincinnati and am going for a trip to make a final decision but heard you’re supposed to get 7-8” next week.

Have limited snow driving experience and will be in a rental vehicle. Any insight as to how roads get treated will be helpful. Where I’m living now we don’t get much snow so they don’t do much to the roads and sometimes it melts and freezes over so you’re driving on a skating rink.
