I had a scout trapped inside AI borders and when they expanded the game just pushed me across the ocean to distant lands. It probably wanted to push me out to the right of the highlighted tile but since I cannot be on open ocean tiles it pushed me further. Now if I can only survive with this scout and access \"mainland\" distant lands, find an independent and befriend them I could either assimilate them or levy their units and conquer a city of the AI that is in the distant lands basically giving me full access to settling there. Since distant land resources are visible even in antiquity I can just forward settle them and have massive advantage in the Exploration age. That is if my scout doesn't die next turn.
