Tips! Feeling discouraged…
I just started my cottage bakery & I need some tips — Feeling discouraged!
I totally thought I made a profit from my first menu drop (I’m doing biweekly/monthly pickup days). I sold everything & pocketed about $200. Subtracting the cost of ingredients, I made about $150. I felt so good…but then realized I had to take away $145 for licensing fees, $45 for bulk packaging….a few other items…I’m in the hole like $60. Lol, I know it’s not much but still feels bad :( Totally would have been fine if it weren’t for the licensing fees! I just kinda started and am not wanting to make a ton, but wanting to make sure that I am making a little bit. Even $50 a month would be so helpful! Thank you!
I didn’t set aside a budget for start up costs. Is that why I’m feeling discouraged? How do I dig myself out of that hole?
