Preventative maintenance while engine is out 05
My brother ran the engine dry on my 05 crv, borrowed it for a few months and never checked the level. It didn’t burn much oil, but who knows what he did in that time. Other than a slight rough idle and feeling a lacking in power, it still ran great after getting flushed and topped off.
My question is if there’s anything in particular on the engine and or transmission that I should replace while the engine is out for a rebuild and everything is easily accessible. It belonged to my mom before and she had some transmission work done a year or two ago for a hard 1 2 or 3 4 shift. Not sure of the details, but I assume a solenoid or something. I don’t want the break the bank, but I might as well knock out what I can, and I want it to be reliable as possible since it’s going to be my wife’s car.
