Pet peeves in fantasy romance, unique to specific authors?
I find myself noticing little things as I read, like how in Reign and Ruin, the author describes facial expressions way too much and really likes the word “dry”, or how T. Kingfisher likes to rehash conversations from multiple perspectives and overuses the phrase “spread their hands”.
I still enjoy these books, and I know every writer has their “thing” that makes their style theirs, but once I notice the author continually does something I can’t unsee it. What are your pet peeves in fantasy romance books, unique to the authors themselves?
Edit: also AK Caggiano, someone is always “making a thoughtful noise” 😭
