No Future Gun Control Laws in Kansas?
The legislature is poised to approve a proposition to the Kansas Constitution that would basically end all reasonable and common sense gun control efforts in the state. This language would be added to Section 4 of the Bill of Rights "(b) The right to keep and bear arms is a natural and fundamental right. This right shall not be infringed. Any restriction of such right shall be subject to the strict scrutiny standard." If the voters approve it in the August, 2026, primary, it will be virtually impossible to pass any gun control measures even if a majority ofKansans supports them.
