Bringing a Bike fromJapan?
Wondering if anyone has done this? What was the process like?
I go to Japan intermittently for business, and am wondering if in the end this is really the best way to find a decent replacement my stolen (a couple of years back now) minivelo(s) -- specifically the SOMA. Thinking a Fuji Helion or similar, something with roughly the profile f the lost SOMA, which I've been unable to replace.
I checked a folder from a flight from Beijing once (I bought it for $30!) and United Air was less than thrilled though they took it and it survived. But in this case I'm thinking ship or check a bike in its factory shipping carton? Or...? Very curious!
For random reference there are some pics of my long-lost mini's, stolen from the garage... probably reduced to parts immediately, I'd guess. No belief that I'd ever get back THOSE bikes, but miss my SOMA, favorite bicycle ever!
