Can I Watch "Sudden impact" (1983) without having watched the prequels?

By prequels I mean : Dirty Harry(1971)/ Magnum force(1973)/ The enforcer (1976)

I wanted to see some Clint Eastwood movies including "Sudden Impact" but I see that it is a sequel to three 3 movies all made by different directors, so I thought that maybe they were movies with the same protagonist but with completely different stories. So I ask you, how connected is "Sudden Impact" to the other movies in the series?
