What happen if you only but non-breakable items in the yard ? (NA2)

Hello ! I have nearly collected all the items in the shop and I was wondering, what happening if I only put non-breakable item in the yard ? Nothing ? Will the cats be "bored" after some time if I don't change the items on display regularly and not come anymore ? Thanks !
