MMA with a nose piercing?

Would it be ok to get my nose pierced with a tiny flat backed piercing and continue training mma? I would be getting punched in the face and grappling, but being so small and with a low profile I doubt it would get caught on anything. I could also wear surgical tape over it to further minimise risks.

Obviously once it heals I would be taking it out in practice/fights.

I've never had a piercing so forgive my ignorance, I appreciate any help :)
