Why don’t Pokemon wear clothes?

And when I say wear clothes, I mean in their offical designs, like how machoke and machamps speedos are apparently “skin”, but the power belt isn’t. Or like how cinderaces pants are “fur” as opposed to actual clothing. It’s made even stranger to me when considering other similar franchises, like digimon for example, where the digimon have clothes in their designs. My thought for the Pokemon is maybe because they’re animals, but at the same time, they’re more like monsters than they are animals.
