I'd like a scif fi/fantasy book where the main character is a fish out of water (in a totally new culture)

Hopefully you could all can give me some recs! I read almost exclusively sci fi and fantasy, and I want a book where the main character is thrown into an entirely new culture and has to adapt, learning the rules and expectations, all the while trying to fulfill some other objective.

Some of my favorite examples:

• Senlin Ascends by Josiah Bancroft
• The Cloud Roads by Martha Wells

Please no Sarah J Maas or Brandon Sanderson!

I know this is hyper specific, but I just love this trope so much!
