What to do when “initialize disk before Logical Disk Manager can access it” shows?

My file explorer had been acting really slow recently so I went to the command prompt to run a health scan and restarted my computer, but now my hard drive that I use as storage doesn’t show up on the file explorer. When I go to disk management, I get the “initialize disk…” window. What to do from here?
