Automatic volume up/down when i plug in earphones

Bought a type c earphone 1.5 months ago, was really good by all aspects but now whenever i plug them in the volume bar appears and it automatically goes up or down as if it's possessed in both my phone and laptop. Can it be fixed with DIY, settings or third party software or is it cooked. It had a guarantee of 3 months, can i claim it since no physical damage was dealt?
