Idea for AI Golgfag Rework
There have been a few posts about Golg not doing anything and I'm right there with you. It's a little silly to watch him chill in Bechafen for 100 turns.
I think the answer could be a system similar to Grom's Hag Merchant dilemma...
Every 30 ish (or whatever feels right) you get this dilemma:
"Solicited by the Maneaters!"
The dilemma has four options:
"We got em'"
AI Golg spawns with a full stack in the center of your highest strength enemy's empire. He functions like a vortex intervention with no replenishment, but everything is a target. Costs 10,000 gold.
"You got em'"
You are gifted an army led by Golg. It's got some powerful Ogre units but is only half size. It can recruit your stuff and replenish. When Golg dies, he's gone. 7500 gold with unit upkeep.
"You got us?!"
Daylight robbery! You steal 10,000 gold from Golg, but he spawns a powerful stack near your faction leader! Alternatively, it could just start a battle like the sea treasures.
"Your loss!"
Nothing happens.
I'm no dev, dont claim to be and have no idea how to implement this. More of a fun thought experiment if anything.
