Uber takes 55% While OF takes 20%

I recently took a passenger on a 52-minute, 44-mile trip, and Uber paid me $39.54. Throughout the entire ride, the passenger was complaining about how she paid $90 for the trip, saying I was “robbing” her and that the price was outrageous. I tried to stay quiet, hoping to avoid a bad rating, but it was frustrating because I don’t see anywhere near the full amount she paid—Uber takes a massive cut.

For the entire ride, she was on the phone, ranting to her friend about how expensive the trip was, and I didn’t want to jump in and explain things, worried it would make things worse. But despite keeping my cool, she still gave me a 1-star rating, and now my perfect 5.00 rating (after 2 years and over 1,000 rides) is ruined because of something totally outside of my control.

It honestly feels like Uber is my pimp at this point. I feel dirty and used. They take 55% of the fare, and yet I’m the one catching grief from the passenger. And if I go to Uber to complain, they’ll probably just slap me and tell me to take it like the other drivers. At this point, I’m just gonna start selling my feet on OnlyFans—they only take 20%.
