How do casual people find friends to play with?

I’ve played on and off for a few years and it’s fun to play but... guilds really feel like they’ve gone down the gutter, at least the ones I’ve been joining. Dead dead dead. The friends I know who do play wow only play classic which isn’t something I’m interested in.

Trade chat spams selling raid boosts or other content for cash, or are very strict on gear specs when recruiting for content. Then idek what to buy bc the new crafting system makes me dizzy and I have no money.

It’s a fun game but it gets a bit lonely.. I want to try new content (like doing a key dungeon?) but people can be so toxic towards casuals. Tried making friends on discord but found some creeps… ugh.
